Oman ranked seventh best tourist destination in the world for 2022

The Sultanate of Oman has been ranked as the seventh best tourist destination in the world for 2022, according to an assessment by travel experts from the Lonely Planet website. The ranking highlights destinations, tourist spots and adventures that attract visitors for their uniqueness and charm.

The report highlighted Oman’s natural beauty, authentic values and rich cultural heritage. In addition to Oman, the list also includes Egypt, which ranked tenth, thanks to its ancient ruins, historic sites and the extraordinary marine life of the Red Sea.

The ranking was achieved after an in-depth study that took into account several criteria established by specialists in the tourism sector. Oman stands out for its climatic and geographical diversity, making it an attractive destination all year round. Its cities are considered among the most charming in the Gulf region, thanks to a variety of landscapes including mountains, valleys and impressive beaches bordering the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Gulf.

The Sultanate offers many tourist attractions, including traditional markets, valleys, mountains such as Jebel Akhdar, in addition to lush green oases and vast deserts. Natural beauty, historic monuments, a pleasant climate and luxury hotel facilities further add to the country’s appeal.

One of the most popular aspects is Oman’s rich archaeological heritage, which includes more than 500 castles and fortresses, making it a must-see destination for history buffs. Oman has already won the award for the best tourist destination in the Arab region in a survey conducted by the German organisation ‘Go Asia’ in 2019, confirming its position of excellence on the international tourism scene.
